Many years ago, I was able to hire Jonathan Perry to help me turn a local Eugene business into a financial/community success. He was expected to last a few months but lasted years and became a manager himself full of loyalty, discipline and integrity. Recently, I talked with him and heard him tell me that it was because of me that he's having a successful life. I recanted that I merely provided him an opportunity and he made the most of that opportunity. He said, thanks to you, "my best is that point beyond my best".
I have seen success stories everywhere that I have been in the world but I am most proud of the experiences here in my own home. Much like Jonathan, I see a greater aspect of us all on the other side of the things we will overcome. The talk of our problems, our incapability and failures of the past is just talk that has been around for thousands of years.
This year, 2023, the talking is over. The disbelief in each other is over. The notion that we each are in the life alone is over. The idea that we are merely human and destined to do nothing but fail is over. We have yet to experience the fruit of our labor because we have not applied our Best. We have accepted our own excuses and believed in the blame casted for too long.
Everyone is waiting for our best. Everyone needs that relentless determination to excellence, loyalty and compassion. Your hard work and diligence is needed. Your tough love, discipline and compassion is needed. Your resilience and fortitude to except only your best is needed by me, your friends and your nation. I expect nothing less.
